When you snub an event that is as important in the Brand Beckham calendar as Victoria’s seasonal runway show, it might be preferable to keep a low profile somewhere in the Andes as an excuse.
Instead, Brooklyn and wife Nicola Peltz opted to flaunt themselves in a nearby location performing body language rituals that suggest they were just taking a bit of a sexy stroll together with not a care in the universe.
Brooklyn, 27, and Nicola, 31, were once again conspicuously absent from the latest Beckham clan event but attended a string of other events in the city just a stone’s throw away.
In contrast David Beckham, 51, had taken pride of place at his wife’s show alongside their children Romeo, Cruz and Harper as the family supported Victoria, 52, at the Conciergerie at 2 Boulevard du Palais, a former royal palace.
Brooklyn and Nicola – his wife of four years – arrived in Paris earlier in the week where they enjoyed a ‘date night’ on Wednesday before attending the Balenciaga fashion show at Tennis Club de Paris.
And in a sign that relations are just as strained as ever, the couple last night opted to take a sexy stroll through the streets instead of considering anything as trivial as family optics.
This appearance by Brooklyn and his apparently strenuously ‘Mummy-mirroring’ wife – clad in black leather pants, with a super slender catwalk model frame and pitch-perfect poses, seems to show that life outside the Beckham bubble is one of success and carefree happiness.
Nicola has even proved previously that she can raise one leg up beside her ear like a flagpole in a copy of Victoria’s impressive signature couch pose.

The couple have raised eyebrows by heading to a string of events just a stone’s throw from the rest of the Beckham clan – but they were noticeably absent from Victoria’s runway show
But there are some body language cues that hint at inner tension too.
The couple’s un-busy strolling seems to involve Nicola meeting all the cameras with a wide, symmetric smile that includes dimples.
But while Nicola seems to be very camera-aware here, Brooklyn appears keener to get stuck in with one of his signature displays of passion and adoration. His poses suggest a man unable to walk down a street with his beautiful wife without trying to pull her in for a kiss.
As they walk together his pose looks as awkward as hers appears perfect, with the one arm round her shoulder, crumpling his shirt in the process.
One of the pictures shows him leading Nicola and looking back at her while she looks rather downcast. And a second appears to show the PR ‘conducting’ a jollier mood with some wide open-mouthed laughter.
Apparently overcome with desire, Brooklyn leans right in to silently and needily request a kiss but Nicola is apparently more on-pose here, keeping her feet splayed and legs facing front and laughing in Brooklyn’s face with her mouth open.
Meanwhile in another part of Paris, Victoria’s ‘reply’ to the loved-up display sees her posing in full matriarch mode, seeming to be shielding her family while she warily keeps the current girlfriends at either end of the Beckham line-up, like bookends.
The response was backed up on social media too, with no reference to the missing family members from the group shot.

Instead, the fashion designer wrote: ‘To my friends and family, I feel so blessed to have you all by my side xxx.’
David also shared a post offering similar praise of his wife, writing: ‘We are so proud of you, yet again you show your elegance, passion & beauty in how you want people to feel in your clothes.
‘We feel so lucky to be part of your beautiful night in a place that we love so much. Well done we couldn’t be prouder.’
The image shows Victoria’s chin raised in a look of defiance, and she has the same arm around her man as Nicola does around her son.
Unlike her normal signature poses that usually involve a tilted head and a shyer glance to camera, her look is one of utter confidence, with her eyes staring straight into the lens.
Her masculine-style pants suit is worn with the sleeves pushed back to suggest she means business and one hand is thrown into a pocket to make her confidence appear casual.
She stands with Harper and Romeo slightly behind her as though keeping them under her wing, while Cruz stands at the other side, leaning in towards his parents and mirroring his dad.
